Good day, my name is Jabulani Bakane but my stage name is Yxxrs Jmax (Pronounced as "Yours J-MAX"). I'm an 18 years old upcoming South African Hip hop and Alternative R&B Artist looking to make a name for myself as someone whom blesses the music industry with the same feeling given to the masses by the late great Michael Jackson. I would describe myself as a modern creative individual who's trying with all his heart to influence the culture of music as well as my people, both internationally and locally.
Imagine the city of Calabasas at night with the warm city low lights pulsing with life, shrouded in absolute silence as my music plays in the gently background of the luminescent landscape, that's how I would describe my sound, a lyrical picture in which I paint for your mind's eye. I lost my birth Father when I was but a year old and was raised by my grandmother. Growing up was difficult, especially being from a low class background. I experienced heavy bullying at school and was heckled for my introvert personality. At age 16, I found solace in writing and music. Doing so gave me more life and in that moment, I found my sense of purpose in life as well. On November 30th of 2017, I uploaded my first project on Audiomack titled; "Boys.Cry" and although it was low quality in production, to my surprise, it reached out to a large audience from which I receive tremendous support, the feeling was amazing! Ever since, I've been focused on trying to develop a fanbase for my talents as I recently dropped my 2nd project on soundcloud :👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽🔥🔥💯💯💯
And the single; "Location". I'm currently doing my year in high school, planning on focusing more so on my artistry next year since there won't be any destruction as well as me being financially stable and able to invest in my brand with everything I have. My family on the other hand, does not support my artistry in any form or fashion and I don't exactly have anyone assisting me on the financial side of my publications. I record in my bedroom when I'm not busy with school. I'm hoping to make a way for my loved one as well as myself when it comes to getting my music the recognition it deserves. I know I'll do great things one day, but a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step in the right direction.
